The objectives of SSACAB are to:

• Develop, strengthen and implement high quality biostatistics masters’ level training at the lead and partner institutions.
• Provide PhD level training to develop expertise, skills, and become research leaders in biostatistics in Africa.
• Build a sustainable network of biostatisticians and statistically-informed researchers within each country and internationally, through outreach, mentoring and transferring skills, workshops and conferences.
• Integrate meetings with internationally-recognised statistical societies such as the International Biometrics Society (IBS) and the Sub-Saharan Africa Network (SUSAN).
